In May 2011, I received a Ph.D. from the Sociology Department at Syracuse University. My dissertation is titled, “‘It’s the Resources’: Work, Governance, and the Institutionalization of an Emergency Food Network.” I recently moved to Worcester, Massachusetts to work at the College of Holy Cross from Kentucky, where I was a Visiting Assistant Professor, at Kentucky State University in Frankfort.  I am originally from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and did my undergraduate work in the Sociology Department at Penn State. When not working on my scholarship or teaching, I enjoy going to farmers’ markets, hiking with our dogs, and playing my mandolin.
